Tall
bamboo generally reaching a height of 8 meters with culms of 4 cm
in diameter.
Very
hardy down to -25°C
The young culms are green
and becoming darker towards the end of the first season until they
mature to a deep dark brown or black color.
This
bamboo does not run and is thus very well suited as specimen or as
hedge. The dark brown to black culms are highly decorative. It
grows well in the sun or half shadow.
